Kathmandu: Artist Ramesh Dulal has continued his unique tradition of organizing a Crow Conference on the occasion of Kaag Tihar, the first day of the five-day Tihar festival. The 23rd edition of the unusual event was held on Saturday morning at the Narayanhiti Durbar Marg premises in Kathmandu.
Organized jointly by the Association of National Musicians and Sandakpur Rural Municipality of Ilam, the event witnessed hundreds of crows gathering in the sky after Dulal began imitating their calls using his own voice.
Dulal, who is capable of imitating nearly 100 different sounds, has been organizing the annual crow gathering on Kaag Tihar for the past 23 years. Within moments of his distinctive crow calls, crows from surrounding areas flew in and gathered above the venue.

Dulal, who also serves as the vice-president of the Association of National Musicians, shared his plans to celebrate the 25th edition on a grand scale. He revealed that he is planning to build a large stage and organize a special celebration to mark the milestone.
Through this year’s conference, Dulal also expressed his optimism about the country’s future, saying he hopes the new generation of political leaders will accelerate Nepal’s development and lead the country towards progress as soon as possible.
The event was attended by Association of National Musicians President Prakash Katuwal, along with several artists and music professionals.

Over the years, Dulal’s unusual talent and annual Crow Conference have become a distinctive attraction of Kaag Tihar, adding a unique cultural and entertaining dimension to the festival.
