Film Development Board organizing a Film Camp

Kathmandu – The Film Development Board is set to organize a film camp in Janakpur, Madhesh Province, on Falgun 13, 14, and 15. The board stated that the camp aims to raise interest and awareness about films in Madhesh while expanding and strengthening the film market there.

With the goal of fostering a culture of inclusivity through cinema, the camp will focus on studying and surveying the state of Nepali and indigenous language films in Madhesh, their market, and audience preferences. It will also orient young filmmakers from Madhesh on film policies and regulations, explore unique, original, and outstanding stories from the Madheshi community, and facilitate discussions on various aspects related to filmmaking, according to Board Chairperson Dinesh DC.

The board has appointed board member K.L. Budhathoki as the coordinator for the film camp initiative. According to Budhathoki, the camp will feature various programs, including film screenings, poster and photo exhibitions, consultation services, workshops, film-related orientation sessions, interactions, discussions, symposiums, and a film conference.
