Kuma Sagar eliminated from The Voice of Nepal

...

Kathmandu: The crooner whose voice has taken everyone’s heart today is Kuma Sagar. His birth name is Sidi Sagar Prajapati. His grandfather sang bhajans (devotional songs), and whenever Kuma had to step out a bit, his grandfather would tell him to go with his grandmother.

Kuma himself admits that he was never greatly interested in studies. He bunked school and classes. He was inclined towards singing from a young age, but his parents did not agree with him going in for music as a profession.

Unperturbed in his quest for doing what he wanted to do, Kuma ran away from home to go in for singing and playing the guitar. The first guitar he bought on hire-purchase. At a certain point of his life, he got bad habits and became addicted. Watching this, his father got him admitted to rehabilitation. His father did not allow him to go anywhere for two to three years. But subsequently, after knowing his true interest, his father himself bought him a guitar. Kuma Sagar also featured in The Voice of Nepal. After passing the digital audition, he performed a Newari song  on the program. He was, however, eliminated from The Voice. Nevertheless, he started recording songs and followed his music career, ultimately getting the success he has today.
