Kathmandu- The legendary goalkeeper of world football, Gianluigi Buffon, is currently in Nepal. The former captain of Italy’s national football team, Buffon, is in Kathmandu as the chief guest for the ongoing KP Oli Cup final. Nepali media and social networks are filled with news of Buffon’s visit to Kathmandu. Buffon has mentioned that he has always wanted to visit Nepal and has learned a lot about the country.

Buffon is also a film enthusiast. In his spare time, he has mentioned in several interviews that he enjoys watching classic and dramatic genre films. Buffon has stated that his favorite film is the 2000 Hollywood movie Gladiator. He believes the film covers themes of leadership, resilience, and respect, which are important qualities for a football player.

In this regard, Dinesh DC, the chairman of the Film Development Board, presented Buffon with a book titled Filming in Nepal, which features locations in Nepal for film shoots. Chairman DC mentioned that such actions would help promote film tourism in Nepal.
