
Kathmandu: The critically acclaimed film Pitambar has been watched by several celebrities. On Tuesday, many film industry professionals attended the screening at Big Movies in City Center, Kathmandu, and praised director Krisha Chaulagain’s work.
After watching the film, actor Kedar Ghimire expressed that he found the movie to be very well-made. He said, “It was really good. Everyone’s performance was powerful. The action was on point. The direction was impressive too. Let’s not compare — the film had a truckload of actors, and everyone did a great job.” His wife and actress Sita Devi Timilsina also praised the film, stating, “It was very good. It highlights real issues in our country, like the challenges faced by single women. That was very meaningful.”
Actor and director Shovit Basnet, who recently returned from a long stay in Australia, also commended the film. He mentioned that he had watched it even while in Australia and was rewatching it now. Leaving the theater excited, he said, “All aspects of the film are excellent. The actors have performed exceptionally. Especially Sougat Malla and Pramod Agrahari — they left a strong impression. The direction was also commendable.”
Director Deepak Acharya (Kaku), who recently completed filming his own movie Paran, couldn’t stop praising Pitambar. He said, “I’ve already said it — I really admire Krisha’s courage and boldness. We must salute her. This level of action movie may be the first of its kind in Nepal.” He also openly appreciated the film’s fight direction and cinematography.
Comedy actor Rajaraj Paudel was also present at the screening and was full of praise for director Krisha. “She has made an excellent film. Her courage and bold vision are praiseworthy,” he said, adding that all the actors had contributed equally.
The film features a star-studded cast including Saugat Malla, Suraksha Panta, Pradeep Khadka, Dayahang Rai, Aryan Sigdel, Anup Bikram Shahi, Gauri Malla, Rabindra Jha, Pramod Agrahari, Kameshwor Chaurasiya, Tika Pahadi, Sulabh Pahadi, Surabir Pandit, Bishal Pahadi, Divyadev Pant, Supushpa Bhatt, Divya Rayamajhi, Gaurav Bista, Ashish Purush, Lalit Bista, Kishor Bhatt, Binod Kumar Paudel, Narayan Kafle, and Rabindra Bhattarai.
Directed by Krisha Chaulagain, the film is produced under the banners of KP Films and Purushottam Pradhan Films. Child actors Arnab Ghimire, Prayus Dutta Subedi, Aadhya Lamichhane, Aaroh Chaulagain, and Suprol Budhathoki also appear in the movie.
Bishal Chaulagain is the main producer, while Purushottam Pradhan, Aadhya Lamichhane, and Aaroh Chaulagain are co-producers. Suman Gautam is the executive producer. The screenplay and dialogues are by Pradeep Bhardwaj and Abhimanyu Nirvi. Cinematography is by Purushottam Pradhan, with additional camera work by Sher Bahadur Lama and Man Krishna Maharjan. The film is edited by Bande Prasad, with a trailer also cut by him. Kala Charan composed the background score, Renis Phago did the color grading, and Ashish Aviral and Babul Giri provided the music. The action sequences were directed by Himal KC.
The film was distributed by RR Films and has been screening in most theaters across Nepal since Chaitra 29 (April 11, 2025).
