Kathmandu – Renowned Nepali actor Rajesh Hamal participated in a paddy plantation event on the occasion of Asar 15 (National Paddy Day) today, emphasizing the importance of agriculture in achieving national prosperity.
While planting rice alongside farmers, Hamal spoke with the media and urged the government to prioritize agriculture. “We often hear politicians talking about national prosperity. But if the state truly wants to see a prosperous Nepal, agriculture and farmers must come first,” he said.
Hamal stressed that in a country like Nepal, where agriculture remains the backbone of the economy, development efforts must begin with this sector. “The roadmap to prosperity begins with agriculture, followed by tourism. Prioritizing these two sectors will generate employment, ensure food security, and ultimately lead to a prosperous nation,” he explained.
The actor, who was seen knee-deep in mud during the event, also highlighted the link between agriculture, job creation, and self-reliance. The rice planting program was organized as part of a special episode of Hamal’s agriculture-focused television show ‘RAW’, produced by his team.
Hamal’s active participation in the event reflected his ongoing commitment to raising awareness about the importance of agriculture in national development.
