Rajesh Hamal

Actor and TV personality Rajesh Hamal hails from Nepal. Known by his admirers as “Maha Nayak,” he is a well-known actor in Nepali cinema. In the 1990s and early 2000s, Hamal’s acting career peaked, having begun in 1991. In Nepali film history, he owns a number of box office records, including the most consecutive hits, the most commercially successful films in which he starred, and the most number of acting honors.

In 1991, Hamal made his acting debut in the critically acclaimed film Yug Dekhi Yug Samma, directed by his uncle Deepak Rayamajhi. The film became a national celebrity. A turning point in his career was the 1992 blockbuster Deuta, which solidified Hamal’s celebrity status in the Nepali cinema industry. Because of his charisma, his commitment in social work, and his contributions to the Nepali film industry, he is widely considered as the best actor in the history of Nepalese cinema and one of the most important individuals in Nepal.

For the most of the 1990s and 2000s, he was the most prominent actor in Nepali cinema. Kasam (1992), Sadak and Prithvi (1994), Simana (1996), Shankar (1997), Chadni and Ek Number Ko Pakhe (1999), Basanti and Dhukdhuki (2000), Hami Tin Bhai (2004), and Ajambari Nata (2005) are some of the other movies that include Hamal. Additionally, he served as the host of Ko Bancha Crorepati (2019).
