Kathmandu — The teaser of the film Lalibazar, produced under the banner of Shatkon Arts, has been released, along with the announcement of its theatrical release date. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on Baisakh 18, 2083 (2026).
The newly released teaser introduces the film’s central characters and offers a glimpse into the storyline. Lalibazar was shot in Rajapur, Bardiya.
The film features an ensemble cast including Swastima Khadka, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Samaira Thapa, Mukund Kumar Shrestha, Abhay Baral, Asha Poudel, Govinda Sunar, Abha Aryal, Tara Sharma, Ramesh Wadi and Saraswati Adhikari, among others.
Actors Bishal Devkota and Prashansa Subedi are making their acting debuts with this film.
Lalibazar is written and directed by Yam Thapa. The screenplay and dialogues were jointly written by director Yam Thapa and filmmaker Pradeep Bhattarai. Swastima Khadka is set to appear in a role different from her usual on-screen image, which has increased audience curiosity about the film.
Pradeep Bhattarai serves as the executive producer, while Max Deepesh Khatri and Rabindra Singh Baniya are the producers.
The film’s creative and technical team includes creative director JB Ruwali, action director Samrat Basnet, cinematographer Sushan Prajapati, editor Mitradev Gurung, production head Rupak Pratap Adhikari, colorist Reinish Phago, VFX artists Sameer Shrestha and Satyam Rana, background score and mixing by Rohit Shakya and Shailesh Shrestha, art director Umesh Chaudhary, costume designer and stylist Janaki Kadayat, makeup artist Kavya Thapa, and music by Prakash Saput, Khem Century and Jayn J Waiba.
