KATHMANDU — Writer and director Raj Bahadur Sane has officially announced his new feature film Gangarani on the occasion of Nepali New Year 2083 and his birthday.

The film, produced under the banner of Aaha Films, marks the latest project from the National Award-winning filmmaker. Sane himself will write and direct the movie, which is currently in pre-production and is expected to begin shooting by the end of Jestha.

Along with the announcement, the team also unveiled a thematic poster. The visual shows a young man standing with a guitar, while a young woman leans against a vehicle beside him—hinting at a romantic storyline between a poor young man and a wealthy girl.

According to the director, Gangarani will revolve around a love story rooted in class difference, focusing on emotional and social contrasts between the two lead characters. However, the final cast and technical crew have not yet been confirmed.

Raj Bahadur Sane is a well-known filmmaker with experience in around a dozen films. His previous works include Pathshala, The Return Hero, Lati, Brindavan, Birangana, Doli, Good Friend, Silly Pho, Bulaki, Juna, and Sitamol. He also won the National Award for Best Screenplay for Bulaki.
