Kathmandu. Actress Barsha Shiwakoti has been officially announced as the lead actress of the upcoming film “Ganga Rani”. The production team welcomed Shiwakoti on board and released a new poster introducing her character.
In the poster, Shiwakoti appears in a striking red outfit, portraying a confident and powerful persona. Her expression and presence in the visual hint at themes of love, mystery, and struggle within the storyline. A shadowy figure of a young man is also featured in the foreground, suggesting a hidden emotional connection or deeper mystery in the film’s narrative, though the character has not yet been revealed.
The background of the poster shows an old settlement with traditional houses, enhanced by warm golden lighting that adds a dramatic and emotional tone, reinforcing the film’s mysterious atmosphere.
According to director Rajbahadur Sane, the shooting of “Ganga Rani” will begin from the second week of Bhadra. The film is being produced under the banner of Aaha Films and is produced by Kamal Prasad Sharma, with Sane himself handling both writing and direction.
Along with the announcement, the production team has also opened a casting call for the film. The team is seeking four female and four male lead actors. Male actors aged between 20 to 40 years and female actors aged between 18 to 35 years are invited to apply.
Interested applicants are requested to submit their introduction video or portfolio through the official application email provided by the production team, along with contact details via phone or WhatsApp. The application deadline is Jestha 20.
Director Sane is an established filmmaker known for works such as “Pathshala,” “The Return Hero,” “Laati,” “Brindavan,” “Birangana,” “Doli,” “Good Friend,” “Silly Pho,” “Bulaki,” “Juna,” and “Sitamol.” He also won the Best Screenplay Award at the National Film Awards for “Bulaki.”
The production team’s upcoming film “Lajjavati,” also directed by Sane under Aaha Films, is currently in post-production and preparing for release.
