Kathmandu: A new Nepali feature film titled Pachchis Pachchis (25:25) has been officially announced. The project was unveiled during a launch event held at Casa Lounge Bar in Durbar Marg on Sunday, where the production team introduced key cast members and technical crew.
The film will be produced under the banner of Karn Entertainment and directed by veteran filmmaker Subrat Acharya, who brings years of experience in film direction and entertainment journalism. Acharya has previously directed films such as Adhakatti and Sushree Sampatti, along with numerous music videos. Pachchis Pachchis marks his third feature film as a director.
The film is being produced by Karn Karki, a well-known entrepreneur with investments in banking, cafés, salons, and export-import businesses. After making his film production debut with Hostel 3 last year, Pachchis Pachchis becomes his second major cinematic venture.
Ajay Neupane and Dhirendra Lal Karn serve as co-producers, while Dipendra Gautam “Michael” has been appointed executive producer. Prakash Kandel and Manisha Raut will handle line production.
The film stars Abhishek Khadka and Khushi Karki in the lead roles. They will be joined by acclaimed actor Pramod Agrahari, known for his versatile performances in Nepali cinema.
One of the film’s major highlights is the Nepali film debut of Amit Subba, popularly known as Bhakte Bhai, a widely followed comedian and content creator from Darjeeling, India. Through his YouTube channel The Rising Boys Entertainment, Amit has gained millions of followers across Nepal, Darjeeling, and Sikkim with his humorous, locally inspired content.
The story has been written by Subrat Acharya and Jaya, while the screenplay is penned by Sushil Devkota. Hari Humagain will oversee cinematography, and Royal Bhimsen is responsible for the film’s poster and publicity design.
The production team plans to begin filming soon and says Pachchis Pachchis will blend strong entertainment with a compelling social-comedy narrative. Speaking at the announcement, director Acharya said the film would reflect authentic Nepali culture and values. The cast members also expressed their excitement about being part of the project.
