Kathmandu: The teaser of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Jhinge Dau 2’, slated for release on September 18 (Ashoj 2), has been officially unveiled. Released on Wednesday, the teaser offers a blend of comedy, family drama, and emotional moments, hinting at an entertaining sequel to the 2022 hit ‘Jhinge Dau’.
The teaser revolves around the constant clashes between sisters-in-law, played by Aanchal Sharma and Keki Adhikari. Their humorous yet intense rivalry over family matters and property creates a series of entertaining situations, while also highlighting the emotional struggles within the household.
Veteran actress Hiunwala Gautam appears as the family’s mother, while Mahesh Tripathi and Kushal Bista play two brothers caught between the conflict. The teaser also gives a glimpse of Aryan Sigdel, whose appearance adds another layer of excitement to the film.
The cast also includes Basundhara Bhusal, Chaitya Devi, Saroj Khanal, Sangam Bhandari, Ayabharaj Baral, Anshu Maharjan, Bijay Deuja, and Uttam KC. Notably, Basundhara Bhusal and Chaitya Devi have reunited on screen after nearly 62 years, making their collaboration one of the film’s highlights.
Directed by Gyanendra Deuja, Jhinge Dau 2 is the sequel to the commercially successful Jhinge Dau, released four years ago.
The film is produced by Sulav Pratik Deuja and Samikshya Deuja. It features cinematography by Bishnu Ghimire (Kalpit), editing by Mitra D. Gurung, music by Arjun Pokharel, choreography by Ramji Lamichhane, and action direction by Roshan Shrestha.
The screenplay and dialogues are written by Parichhed Sen, while the story is penned by Govinda Phuyal and Shishir Chalise.
With its mix of laughter, family conflict, and emotional storytelling, the teaser suggests that Jhinge Dau 2 aims to recreate the charm and success of its predecessor when it arrives in cinemas this September.
