Kathmandu — The film “Paran”, set to release on Kartik 14, has unveiled its poetic teaser. The teaser was released on the occasion of veteran actor Nir Shah’s birthday. It features the words of poet Nawaraj Parajuli, recited in his own voice.

In Parajuli’s poetry, the emotions of the film’s lead character, played by Nir Shah, are expressed poignantly. The teaser, released through OSR Digital’s YouTube channel, conveys through verse the feelings of an elderly father who hopes that his son will stay by his side until the end of his life.

In the poem, the father considers his son a gift from God, expressing the wish that just as he raised and nurtured his son, the son should also stand by his father in his final days.

Poet Parajuli beautifully captures this sentiment with the following lines:

“Before burning, the matchstick never leaves its box,
This is my son Paran  he will never leave me.
Just because a bird leaves its nest, does the tree fall? It doesn’t.
To test this, my son never stops challenging me.
This is my son Paran  he will never leave me.
God entrusted me with a son; I raised him with care.
My son will never abandon me, leaving God’s trust undone.
This is my son Paran  he will never leave me.”

In the teaser, these words are expressed through Nir Shah, the main actor, with the visuals primarily centered around his performance.

Alongside Nir Shah, the teaser also features actors Madan Krishna Shrestha, Keki Adhikari, Mahesh Tripathi, Buddhi Tamang, Praveen Khatiwada, Pooja Chand, and Anjana Baraily, among others. This poetic teaser also offers viewers a glimpse into the theme and emotional depth of the film.

The teaser suggests that Paran will explore the father son relationship, portraying the ups and downs shaped by social status, circumstances, and generational differences. From what is shown, the teaser gives a clear indication that Paran aims to be a heartfelt family drama. With its veteran cast and powerful subject matter, the film is expected to be particularly appealing to family audiences.
