
Kathmandu – Veteran actress Laxmi Shrestha, widely known by her screen name Apsara Aama, passed away late last night. Her final rites were conducted this morning at 9 AM at the Pashupati Aryaghat.
Notable figures from the Nepali film and entertainment industry, including Film Development Board Chairman Dinesh DC, actors Ram Chandra Adhikari, Deepak Raj Giri, Deepak Prasad Acharya, Sushila Niraula (Bimali), and singer Radhika Hamal, were present at the cremation to pay their last respects.
Apsara Aama began her acting career in 1995 (B.S. 2052) with the TV series Twakka Tukka and later appeared in Hijo Aajaka Kura. She gained widespread recognition for her role as Apsara, the wife of the character Khadka Ji (played by Sitaram Kattel ‘Dhurmus’) in the popular Serial Meri Bassai.
In recent years, she had been battling cancer and had been bedridden for the past 35 days before her demise.
