Kathmandu — Following the massive success of Purna Bahadurko Sarangi, actor Bijaya Baral and actress Anjana Baraili are set to reunite on screen in the upcoming film Sindure Jatra. Produced under the banner of Sarangi Films, the production team has officially begun signing artists, announcing the lead pair on the auspicious occasion of Saraswati Puja.

Sindure Jatra will be directed by blockbuster filmmaker Saroj Poudel. This marks the second collaboration between Poudel and the Baral–Baraili duo. Earlier, the trio worked together on Purna Bahadurko Sarangi, which went on to become one of the highest-grossing films in Nepali cinema history, earning over NPR 500 million at the domestic box office.

The film proved to be a major turning point in Bijaya Baral’s career, in which he played the central role of Purna Bahadur, while Anjana Baraili portrayed his on-screen wife. Their performances and on-screen chemistry were widely appreciated by audiences, making their reunion in Sindure Jatra a point of strong anticipation.

Director Saroj Poudel stated that the casting of Sindure Jatra is being done strictly based on character suitability. “Bijaya and Anjana were not signed because of market popularity,” he clarified. “The story itself demanded them. To make a good film, there is no alternative to casting actors who truly fit the characters.”

The film is written by Sabin Adhikari and Basanta Nyaupane, with the story by director Poudel himself. Other cast members will be finalized gradually in the coming days.

RR Films will handle the distribution of Sindure Jatra, while OSR Digital has been signed on as the digital partner. The release date has not yet been announced.

With the team behind a record-breaking NPR 500 million (50 cr) film coming together once again, Sindure Jatra has already generated strong excitement and high expectations among both audiences and the Nepali film industry.
