Kathmandu – The misuse of celebrities’ names to solicit money through social media has been increasing in recent times. Recently, reports have surfaced that money was being requested using the name of popular actor Anmol K.C.
Anmol K.C. himself has issued a public warning through his official Facebook account, clarifying that he has not asked anyone for money. He urged fans and the general public to remain cautious and to ignore requests coming from fake or impersonated accounts using his name or photos.
This is not an isolated incident. Earlier, similar cases were reported involving the names of well-known actresses Keki Adhikari, Swastima Khadka, and Rima Bishwokarma, among others, whose identities were misused to deceive people online.
Such incidents have raised concerns about online fraud and impersonation, highlighting the need for increased digital awareness and verification before responding to any financial requests made on social media platforms.
