Kathmandu – A new film titled “Munamadan Ko Breakup” has been officially announced. Directed by Dipendra Lama, the movie will feature a screenplay by Samipyaraj Timalsena and executive production by Shridhar Paudel. The trio Lama, Timalsena, and Paudel, all with backgrounds in journalism — are collaborating again after their 2018 film Gopi.
So far, only actor Raj Katwal has been finalized for the cast. Katwal was last seen in the film Narasimha Avatar. According to director Lama, discussions are ongoing regarding the rest of the cast, and final decisions will be made in a few days. “Since the script suited him, we cast Katwal. The rest of the cast will also be selected to align with the story and characters,” Lama explained. Having previously directed six films, from his debut Ghampani to Dukhi Aatma, Lama aims to make Munamadan Ko Breakup an entertaining movie.
Screenwriter Timalsena shared that the film will offer a unique rural-themed love story. “Unlike the romantic stories commonly seen in recent Nepali films, this one will bring a different flavor,” he said. “It’s very difficult these days to draw audiences to theaters, so we will work hard on the script.”
Actor Katwal expressed his excitement about the project, saying, “Compared to my previous films, I’m working to present myself in a more refined way for this one.” He considers his role in the film to be particularly challenging. Executive producer Paudel stated that the film will be shot in a rural area of the Kaski district. “We will only begin filming once the script and pre-production work are perfect. Our goal is to deliver a quality product through patient and dedicated work,” he said.
