Astha Raut is a renowned Nepali singer celebrated for her powerful vocals, energetic stage presence, and contributions to modern Nepali pop and playback music. Born on April 30 in Kathmandu to a musical family—her father Hari Bahadur Raut is a respected folk singer and her mother Sabitri Raut a lyricist—Astha was immersed in music from an early age. She first gained national attention with the hit remix song Saal Ko Paat Tapari from the album Addiction 2, which marked the beginning of her successful musical career. Her debut album Aadhar featured chart-topping songs like Chaubandi Ma Patuki and Jhumke Bulaki, cementing her place in the Nepali music scene. She has also performed playback singing for popular films, including Maya Yo Maya from Maya’s Bar. In 2019, she released her second album Aadhar 2 and served as a vocal coach on The Voice of Nepal Season 2, further expanding her influence in the industry. Astha holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from CG Manipal Campion College and is admired not only for her music but also for her bold personality, adventurous spirit, and involvement in social causes such as education and mental health awareness. Over the years, she has received several prestigious awards, including the Hits FM Music Award and the Image Award, and continues to be one of the leading voices in contemporary Nepali music.
