Kedar Ghimire is married to Sita Devi Timalsena, an actress. While his entertainment career has been his most well-known success, his personal life outside of entertainment is a story of strength and devotion to his job. Early Life and Struggles
He was born on 13 April 1976. His life was not smooth in the early stages because his mother left him and his family when he was just seven years old. Ghimire’s dreams of studying were burnt to ashes when he was 16 years old and his house, along with his savings where he was living with his family, caught fire. He still fulfilled his dream of visiting Kathmandu in 1992 but this time to work, not study, due to poverty. Despite having wanted to study law, he abandoned the dream after consecutive failures. He also tried his hand at other professions, such as construction, but they did not yield any success in his life.
However, his luck turned in his favor in 2005 when he became involved in the Nepali TV sitcom Meri Bassai, which was the starting point of the successful journey of his entertainment career.
Career Highlights
Meri Bassai (2005-2015): Ghimire’s most well-known acting was in the extremely popular Nepali sitcom Meri Bassai, in which he acted as Magne Budo, a young, quirky boy. Everyone’s favorite was his one-liner dialogue, “Ahile latta le diyera bari ko pata ma purydinchu” or “I will kick you to the end of the field with one hit.” Through this act, he became well known all over the nation. Ghimire not only acted in the show but was also a scriptwriter and producer, which contributed to its level of success. He worked for the show until his departure in 2015.
Career in Nepali Movies: Ghimire also made a successful career in Nepali movies. He played roles in blockbuster comedy movies such as Cha Ekan Cha (2013) and Oda no Cha (2015). He got his breakthrough role with Chhakka Panja in 2016, which went on to be one of the highest-grossing Nepali movies of all time. The film made him one of the top actors of Nepali cinema.
Television Shows and Other Works: Aside from Meri Bassai, Ghimire has also been featured in some of Nepal’s best television shows, which have consisted of Tito Satya and Jire Khursani.
