Laxmi Bardewa

Laxmi Bardewa has steadily risen to prominence in Nepali cinema, earning recognition for her expressive acting and strong command over both film and theater. Known for her versatility, she has become one of the most promising faces of the new generation of Nepali actors.

Born on May 22 in Lalitpur and raised in Gaurighat, Kathmandu, Bardewa’s artistic foundation was built on the stage. She dedicated more than eleven years to theater before stepping into movies, refining her emotional depth, discipline, and storytelling instincts. Her first brush with cinema came through a small role in Mala, an experience that awakened her passion for film and encouraged her to pursue acting more seriously.

Her official film debut came with Ghampani (2017) as Ramita, a performance that opened the door to a series of acclaimed roles. She went on to appear in notable films such as Mr. Jholay, Damaru Ko Dandibiyo, Hari, Bulbul, Kagaz Patra, Bare Trees in the Mist, Selfie King, Dhulo, Junkiri, Chapali Height 3, and Shakti. Each role showcased her ability to adapt to diverse characters and deliver honest, grounded performances.

Adding to her growing stature, Bardewa now plays the lead role in Abhimanyu: Chapter 1. Her character stands at the center of the film’s narrative, further establishing her as a commanding screen presence. Her portrayal in the movie reflects her maturity as an actress and highlights the confidence she has developed through years of theatrical and cinematic experience.

Along with her acting career, Bardewa pursued her education in Journalism and Political Science at Ratna Rajya Campus. She is married to actor Jiban Bhattarai, and the couple shares a strong creative partnership.
