Early Life and Musical Journey

Born on February 24, 1988 (Falgun 12, 2045 B.S.) in Gulariya Municipality-1, Bardiya, Purna Kala grew up surrounded by the rich cultural rhythms of western Nepal. Her passion for music led her to officially begin her singing career in 2009 (2066 B.S.), and within just a few years, she was recognized nationwide.

Her breakthrough came in 2012 (2069 B.S.) with the release of “Dadai Bisauni,” a song that became a nationwide sensation.
“Before ‘Dadai Bisoni,’ I had sung many songs, but none gave me recognition. When that song played everywhere, I finally felt proud to be called an artist,” Purnakala shared with Artist Khabar.

Today, she has recorded over 5,000 folk and duet songs, and during her peak, she could record up to 12 songs in a single day. Even now, she continues to record at least 20 songs per month, maintaining her status as one of Nepal’s most active folk singers.

Her hit songs include “Mayaluko Sahar,” “Jaya Jaya Hos,” “Jugjani Maya Garaula,” “Rundai Rundai Timro Sahar,” “Sanisar,” “Nirmaya Aauchhau Audainau,” “Maili,” and “Phul Mayama Nabhul.” Renowned for her versatility, she can sing folk songs from different regions of Nepal, with Sudurpaschim’s Deuda songs being especially popular in her repertoire.

International Recognition and Stage Performances

Purna Kala Bisi has proudly represented Nepali folk music internationally, performing in Japan, Australia, the UK, Dubai, and Malaysia. She has also performed in numerous musical programs across Nepal, especially in the western regions, winning the hearts of thousands of music lovers.

In 2014 (2071 B.S.), she married Dhana Kp from Pokhara, and the couple now resides in Kathmandu, where she continues her musical journey.
