Swoopna Suman, born as Suman Thapa on December 2, 1995, in Kathmandu, Nepal, is a renowned Nepali singer, songwriter, and guitarist known for his soulful music and unique blend of contemporary and traditional Nepali styles. He began his musical journey in 2012 by uploading home-recorded videos on YouTube, which quickly caught the attention of Karma Records. In 2014, he officially debuted with the song “K Saro Ramri Bhako.” His popularity rose significantly after joining Arbitrary Productions in 2016, where he released several hit songs including “Kunai Din,” “Kasari Bhanu,” “Ma Timro,” and “Kurera Baschu.” The song “Kasari Bhanu,” released in 2017, became a turning point in his career. Currently, Swoopna works independently and performs live across Nepal and abroad, gathering a loyal fanbase known as “Swoopners.” His recent song “Radha” has gained immense popularity, crossing over 17 million views on YouTube. In his personal life, he is married to Nepali model and social media personality Jyotsana Yogi; the couple tied the knot on May 4, 2022, after dating for four years. Swoopna performs live with his band, The Asters, which was formed in 2021 and includes talented musicians on keyboard, drums, bass, lead guitar, and audio support. Managed by Rashik Bhattarai, Swoopna and his team aspire to take Nepali music to international stages, continuing to create heartfelt and meaningful songs that deeply resonate with audiences.
