Vijay Lama is a well-known and multifaceted personality from Nepal, widely recognized for his work as a senior commercial pilot, actor, singer, television presenter, and social activist. Born on March 7, 1964, in Lalitpur, he is among the first Nepalese pilots trained to instruct on the Airbus A330 and has served as a senior captain and spokesperson for Nepal Airlines Corporation. Alongside his aviation career, Lama has been active in the Nepali film industry since the 1980s, appearing in over 30 films including notable titles like Truck Driver, Raanko, and Muna Madan. He also gained international recognition for his role in the Hollywood movie Everest (2015), where he portrayed Col. Madan KC, a rescue pilot. In addition to flying and acting, he is a passionate singer and was part of the Guinness World Record-winning song Melancholy, which featured 365 Nepali vocalists. Lama is also respected for his social engagement and presence in media, where he often speaks on national issues and advocates for change.
