
Kathmandu — The Second Global Excellency Honor, Art Music and Business Conference–2025 was successfully held yesterday in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The event brought together Nepali artists, beauticians, and journalists alongside Thai artists and cultural experts. The conference focused on the preservation of Nepali music, language, and culture in Thailand, and on strengthening ties between Nepali-speaking communities in Thailand and those in Nepal.
Singer and journalist Sarita Bharti, the coordinator of the event, welcomed everyone and shed light on the objectives of the program. She shared that similar conferences had previously been organized in Malaysia and now in Thailand, aiming to connect the Nepali diaspora across countries.
At the event, Bharati Limbuni, founder, patron, senior professor, and cultural expert of the NRN Thailand and Thai-Nepali Association, shared her thoughts on the status of Nepali-speaking communities in Myanmar and Thailand and their deep connection to their language and culture. She praised the conference for helping to bridge the gap between native and diaspora Nepalis.
Vijaya Awaj Subedi, Vice President of the Film Journalists Association of Nepal, spoke about the contribution of film journalists in promoting Nepali art and culture. While facilitating the event, he also mentioned that the association had expanded its branches to the UAE and Japan and is planning further expansions to Thailand, Malaysia, and other countries. Nabin Giri, Secretary of the Film Journalists Association of Nepal, also expressed his commitment to support Nepali migrant issues through media.
Actor and model Shridev Bhattarai, who participated from Nepal, shared insights on the feasibility of shooting Nepali films and music videos in Thailand. He expressed his interest in collaborating with local Nepali-speaking artists in music and video projects.
Winner of “Mero Universe Dance” and model Khusi Karki spoke about the status of Nepali-speaking artists in Thailand and shared her experiences of modeling in various music videos and her journey to Madi Himal in Nepal. Shyam Rai, manager of Everest Kitchen Thailand, discussed how they have been promoting traditional Nepali cuisine not only among Nepalis but also to people from other countries.
In his closing remarks, journalist and lyricist Dabbu Kshatri expressed concern over the challenges faced by young Nepali-speaking people in Myanmar who are being forced to migrate. He praised the efforts of the NRN and the Thai-Nepali Association in promoting Nepali language and culture in Thailand.
At the conference, several artists, journalists, beauticians, and cultural experts were honored with the Global Excellency Honor–2025. From Thailand, the honor was presented to Prof. Bharati Limbuni and former president of the Thai-Nepali Association Kumar Karki.
From Nepal, actor Shridev Bhattarai, journalists Vijaya Awaj Subedi and Nabin Giri, and singer Hemant Shishir were recognized for their contributions. Beauticians honored included Bina Rana Magar, president of Cheli Makeup Studio; Amala Shahi (Amisa) from the same studio; Rajeshwari Shilpakar, owner of Angel Beauty Parlor, Barhathwa; Sujita Adhikari, owner of Sujita Beauty Parlor in Dhading and first runner-up of Beautician Talent Nepal 2025; and Niran Tamang, president of Spark Beauty Parlor.
Model and artist Khusi Karki was awarded a certificate of appreciation during the program.
