
Kathmandu – At Japan’s “Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival 2025”, two Nepali films — Pitambar and Rangi — have won awards. During the festival held on Sunday, actor Saugat Malla won the Best Actor Award for his performance in Pitambar, while Anup Bikram Shahi received the Breakthrough Performance Award for the same film. Similarly, Krisha Chaulagai, also from Pitambar, won the Best Director Award.
From the film Rangi, actor Salon Basnet secured the Best Actor Award in the Drama Category, and Suresh Nyaupane won the Best Drama Director Award.
The festival featured films from various countries. Yuwa Entertainment has been actively distributing Nepali films in Japan. The main organizer of this awards event was Ujjwal Guragai, head of Yuna Entertainment. He stated that the primary purpose of organizing this festival was to further expand the market for Nepali films both domestically and internationally.
