Kathmandu – Actress Barsha Siwakoti has been officially signed for the upcoming film “Jahajai Ma”, which will be directed by Krisha Chaulagai. The production team formally signed her on Saturday. Following the agreement, Siwakoti expressed her happiness, stating that she accepted the role because she liked the story and the team, and feels fortunate to work with such an excellent crew.
Prior to this, actors Kedar Ghimire (Magne Budha), Saugat Malla, Karma Shakya, and Japanese actress Rujhel Ichimiya had already been confirmed for the film. According to the production team, casting for the remaining roles is in its final stage. The film’s story is written by Abhimanyu Nirabi, and the cinematography (DOP) will be handled by Purushottam Pradhan. The film is being produced by Ujwal Guragain under the banner of UNA Production.
The film, being made in collaboration with KP Films, is set to begin shooting in Japan from the Nepali month of Bhadra (August/September). It will be filmed across Nepal, Japan, and the Philippines, with pre-production currently progressing rapidly. Moreover, the producers have already announced the release date of the film two months prior to the start of filming. In collaboration with R.R Films, the movie will be released across Nepal starting from Falgun 1 (mid-February 2026). Distribution will be handled by Rohit Kattel and Ratna Shrestha of R.R Films.
