Kathmandu: The upcoming Nepali film ‘Dear Kavya’, to be produced under the banner of Golden Wolf Pictures, has been officially announced. The film was announced at a grand event held at Hotel Vajra in Bijeshwori on Thursday, where a 30-foot-long poster was unveiled.
Upasana Singh Thakuri and Bikki Samser Khadka will headline the film. For Bikki, ‘Dear Kavya’ will mark his acting debut in a feature film. He is a trained theater student.
The unveiled poster presents Upasana and Bikki in a romantic mood. In the poster, Upasana is seen pulling Bikki’s scarf and moving closer to him, while the background features Nepalgunj city and the Karnali Bridge.
The film will be directed by Shraddha Prasai, marking her second directorial project. Her previous film, ‘Kakakiki’, is currently gearing up for release. According to the production team, filming for ‘Dear Kavya’ is scheduled to begin in Mangsir.

The film also features Gauri Malla, Tripti Nadkar, Anup Baral, Santosh Thapa and Khadga Bahadur Pun Magar, among others.
Devi Singh and Hem Kumari Bhetuwal are the producers, while Diya Maskey and Sandeep Dangol are the executive producers. Arjun Poudel is the line producer. Poster and publicity design will be handled by Royal Bhimsen of Trident Concept, while Priya Karki will oversee makeup.
Speaking at the announcement event, director Shraddha Prasai expressed her happiness at being trusted with the project. She said that ‘Dear Kavya’ is her second film as a director and that her earlier directorial project, ‘Kakakiki’, is also preparing for release. She added that the team will put in their best efforts to make ‘Dear Kavya’.
Executive producer Diya Maskey said that she is beginning her journey as a film producer with ‘Dear Kavya’. She described the project as a new experience for her and said that further details about the film would be revealed gradually.
For debutant actor Bikki Samser Khadka, the project is a significant beginning to his film career. He expressed gratitude to the team for trusting him with the role and revealed that Diya Maskey and Anup Baral are his acting mentors. He thanked them for believing in him and giving him the opportunity to be part of the film.
Meanwhile, Upasana Singh Thakuri thanked the team for selecting her for ‘Dear Kavya’. She especially expressed her gratitude to Diya Maskey and said she was excited to be working with a female director for the first time.
The production team said that further details regarding the storyline and technical crew will be revealed in the coming days. Filming is scheduled to begin in Mangsir.
