Kathmandu: The makers of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Ba: Ek Yoddha’ have unveiled its official teaser, offering an emotional glimpse into a story centered on family, sacrifice, and loss ahead of its theatrical release on Bhadra 19.
Opening with the dialogue, “We had a small world of our own, but everything was destroyed,” the teaser introduces lead actor Divya Dev Pant, covered in blood from head to toe, hinting that he has survived a devastating incident. As he returns home, a series of flashbacks reveal moments of happiness with his family before tragedy strikes.
The teaser captures emotionally charged scenes of a young daughter calling out to her father, frightened villagers running in panic, and a family torn apart by an unexpected disaster. Another poignant dialogue—“Today is the day to see a father’s face, but one father never got to see his son’s face”—adds further emotional depth, accompanied by heartbreaking visuals of Jharana Thapa and Suhana Thapa in tears.
While the teaser successfully portrays the emotional collapse of a once-happy family, it deliberately keeps the cause of the tragedy a mystery, building intrigue for the full film.
Scheduled for release on Bhadra 19, Ba: Ek Yoddha explores the sacrifices, struggles, and lifelong challenges fathers endure to secure a better future for their children in Nepali society.
Alongside Divya Dev Pant, Jharana Thapa, and Suhana Thapa, the film also stars Maotse Gurung, Anil Budhathoki, Sagar Khanal, Shishir Siwakoti, Supragya Sharma, and Shavi Thapa.
The film marks the feature directorial debut of celebrated composer, lyricist, and singer Hari Lamsal, who has also written the story and screenplay. Produced under the Artistic Entertainment banner by Basant Lamsal, the film features cinematography by Shivaram Shrestha, with Taranath Nyaupane serving as chief assistant director.
Ba: Ek Yoddha will be distributed by Kuber Cine Distribution, represented by Ashish H. Tamang and Pradeep Dhami.
The film will face box-office competition from another much-awaited Nepali release, ‘Kakakiki’, a comedy produced by the Comedy Darbar team, which is also set to hit cinemas on Bhadra 19 after recently unveiling its first-look poster.
