Film Journalists Association Nepal Announces National Feature Writing Competition

Kathmandu: The Film Journalists Association Nepal (FJAN) has announced the National Feature Writing Competition–2083 with the aim of enhancing the standards of Nepali film journalism and promoting creative writing.

Issuing a public call, the association has invited film journalists from across the country to participate in the competition. Interested participants can submit feature stories, articles, or film reviews related to cinema, music, arts, literature, or theatre by emailing them to [email protected] no later than Ashoj 23, 2083 (BS).

According to the competition guidelines, submissions must be between 1,100 and 1,900 words. A selection committee formed by the association will evaluate all entries and shortlist the top five submissions.

The association has announced cash prizes for the winners. The first-place winner will receive Rs. 20,000, the second-place winner Rs. 15,000, and the third-place winner Rs. 10,000. In addition, two consolation winners will each receive Rs. 5,000 along with certificates.

All entries must be original, unpublished, and solely authored by the participant. Preference will be given to members of the association and to original creative works.

General Secretary Gopi Krishna Chapagain has urged film journalists across Nepal to participate enthusiastically in the competition, which has been organized to strengthen quality film journalism and foster a culture of creative writing in the country.
