Kathmandu – The popular and successful Nepali film ‘Unko Sweater’ has finally been released on YouTube, making it available to watch for free worldwide. The production company Artmandu has made the film public through its official YouTube channel, allowing global audiences easy access.

Director Nabin Chauhan stated that after a long and successful theatrical run in Nepal and India, the team decided to release the film digitally to reach viewers who were unable to watch it in cinemas.

The film reportedly collected around NPR 120 million at the Nepali box office. It completed 51 days of screening in more than 40 theatres across Nepal. In India as well, Unko Sweater enjoyed remarkable success, running for 51 days in 40 theatres.

In India, the film was screened in cities across Sikkim and the northeastern region, including Gangtok, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and Assam, and also reached major cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, and Kerala. Despite differences in language and setting, the emotional depth of the story strongly resonated with Indian audiences.

Many viewers from Nepal and abroad had been requesting a re-release, as they were unable to attend theatre screenings due to time and location constraints. Respecting this demand, Artmandu decided to bring the film to YouTube.

Starring Bipin Karki, Miruna Magar, Alex Paras, Pariksha Limbu, and Sunil Pokhrel, Unko Sweater is described by the makers not just as a film, but as a warm story of roots, memories, and relationships.
