Kathmandu: The makers of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Masterni’ have released the film’s first-look poster, featuring actress Priyanka Karki in the title role. Presented by Aayanka Films, the psychological thriller is scheduled to hit theatres on August 21 (Bhadra 5).

The newly unveiled poster shows Karki lying calmly in a bathtub, while her expressive eyes hint at a hidden mystery beneath the surface. Although the image appears peaceful at first glance, the dark water and golden fish surrounding her suggest an unsettling atmosphere, symbolizing concealed truths or hidden evidence.

The English tagline, “The calmest mind planned the deadliest game,” further hints that the seemingly composed protagonist may be the mastermind behind a dangerous and mysterious plot. The concept-driven poster was designed by Royal Bhimsen of Trident Concept.

Directed by Shubhendu Ghosh, Masterni is produced by Priyanka Karki, Cabinet Shrestha, Ayushman Joshi, and Pranit Karki. The cast also includes Aaryan Sigdel, Saroj Khanal, Gauri Malla, Pramod Agrahari, Richa Sharma, Anoop Bikram Shahi, Simran Khadka, Rakshya Thapa, and Dinesh Kafle.

The film’s executive producer is Surakshya Singh Malhotra, while Simos Sunuwar serves as the creative producer. The story is written by Priyanka Karki, with the screenplay by Shan Basnet. Karki and Basnet have jointly penned the dialogues.

The film features cinematography by Yuvraj Indoriya and editing by Raja Singh Sidhu.

According to the production team, Masterni is being prepared for a simultaneous release in 10 languages, including Nepali, with its theatrical release set for August 21.
