Kathmandu — The first phase of shooting for the film Roll No. 1, produced under the banner of Seven Seas Cinema, has been successfully completed.
The main portions of the film were shot over 42 days across various scenic and rural locations of Myagdi district. Although the shooting schedule was initially set for 45 days, the production team managed to wrap up the first phase close to the planned timeline despite unfavorable weather conditions and technical challenges.
Producer Binod Poudel stated that the extreme cold in the Himalayan district created difficulties, especially for the technical crew, with night shoots becoming particularly challenging due to rapidly dropping temperatures. He added that the team made no compromises on quality and will resume the remaining work after a short break.
Directed and written by John Yonjan, Roll No. 1 is based on child psychology and focuses on social pressure among students, false prestige, and the mindset of compulsive competition. The film’s first-look poster, released last year, had already drawn attention with its emotional depiction of a child raising his hand in a classroom.
The film stars Mukun Bhusal, Sushank Mainali, Renu Yogi, Srijana Adhikari, and Nirbhik Regmi in lead roles. After a brief rest, the production team is set to shoot the remaining scenes in Kathmandu. The release date has not yet been announced and will be confirmed after post-production is completed.
