Kathmandu — Friends Cinemas has opened its third branch in Ilam, following its existing theatres in Dharan and Butwal. The new cinema hall, located in Ilam Municipality–7, will begin operations this Friday.
According to Friends Cinemas Director Ashish H Tamang, the theatre has been built with an investment of NPR 35 million. The single-screen hall has a seating capacity of 190.
The cinema has received official operating approval from the Film Development Board (Nepal). Tamang said the company aims to expand modern cinema halls to more districts to strengthen Nepal’s domestic film market beyond major cities.
