Kathmandu – After the blockbuster success of Bokshiko Ghar, actress Keki Adhikari has found herself busier than ever. With one film after another lined up, her next release is titled “Janai Haraayeko Manche: Sambandhaka Dhagaharu” (The Man Who Lost His Sacred Thread: Threads of Relationships), hitting theaters on Bhadra 6 (August 22).
In this film, Keki plays the sister of the main character, portrayed by Vijay Baral. Her character silently endures domestic abuse from her husband, all in the hope that her brother’s life will find purpose and direction. She is a woman who hides her own pain and lives for the happiness of others.
When her brother learns that she is enduring abuse, he tries to stand up against it—but she shouts at him, revealing that she chooses to live in darkness so that others may live in light. In the trailer, Keki’s character is seen sacrificing her own dreams for her brother, embodying both compassion and the helplessness of being trapped in societal constraints.
According to Keki, she plays a rural girl who comes to Kathmandu with big dreams at a young age. “But time and circumstances lead her to a point where she forgets what her dreams even were,” says Keki. “There are many such women in Kathmandu today, and my character is one of them.”
Starring alongside Keki Adhikari and Vijay Baral, the film also features Miruna Magar, Shushank Mainali, Bhola Raj Sapkota, Gaurav Pahari, Riar Rai, Bhawana Khapangi Magar, Rupesh Lama, and Suman Thapa, among others.
Produced under the Paperclip Banner by Kamal Nyaupane and Bimal Nyaupane, the executive producers include Narayan Timilsina, Chudamani Sibakoti, RK Manandhar, CR Basnet, Philip DC, and James Maharajan.
Music has been composed by Thaneshwar Gautam, Arjun Pokharel, SD Yogi, and Prashant Sibakoti, while Naveen Gurung is the Director of Photography and Krishna Pariyar handled cinematography.
The story, screenplay, and dialogues are written by Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal. Dinesh Bahadur Raut is the chief assistant director, supported by Tarkaraj Nyaupane, Rabindra Nepal, Monika Thapa, and Akash K.C. as assistant directors. Laxman Raj Paudel serves as the production controller.
Govinda Shahi’s Kafiya Films is in charge of the film’s distribution.
This film also marks Vijay Baral’s return in a lead role following the all-time blockbuster Purnabahadurko Sarangi, making Janai Haraayeko Manche one of the most anticipated Nepali films of the year.
