KATHMANDU — The first poster of the upcoming Nepali film Karki Saila, starring Jitu Nepal in the lead role, has been unveiled along with its official release date. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on Shrawan 1.

The poster presents Jitu Nepal in a striking and unusual look as a porter (bhariya). A symbolic visual shows a basket he carries forming a mountain-like structure, with several porters walking across it. Birds flying in the sky and subtle visual elements hint at deeper layers of the film’s narrative.

At the bottom of the poster, a romantic couple is also depicted, with a woman resting her head on a man’s shoulder—adding intrigue and raising curiosity among audiences about their identity and role in the story.

Known widely for his comedic roles, Jitu Nepal appears in a completely different avatar in this film. Director Rajendra Basnet presents him in the story of a porter, suggesting a more serious and emotional performance.

The film has been shot in various locations in eastern Nepal, including Dhankuta and Barahakshetra and Chatara in Sunsari. Alongside Jitu Nepal, the film features Priyana Acharya (Munny), Sushil Pokharel, Birendra Singh Kushwaha, Manshi Sharma, Manil Tamang, Renuka Acharya, Dipson Limbu, Roda Rai, and Kamal Devkota, among others.

Produced by Bal Kumar Rai and presented by Krishna Bhagat Chamling, the film is made under the banner of Karnabahadur Films Pvt. Ltd. The cinematography is handled by Dambar Rai, while Rozal Thapa serves as the chief assistant director.

The film features action by Kiran Dahal, music by Dipson Limbu, and production management by CB Bhandari. Distribution will be handled by Kuber Films.
