Kathmandu: The reality show ‘Lok Dohori Champion’ has begun its television journey with the aim of preserving Nepali folk music while providing a national platform for emerging talents.
Produced under the banner of Ragon Studio Pvt. Ltd., the show is being broadcast on Image Television every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
The show brings together aspiring folk singers from different regions and communities of Nepal, giving them an opportunity to showcase their singing and creative abilities. According to the organizers, the program aims to connect the traditional essence of Nepali folk music with the voice, energy and creativity of the younger generation.
Directed by Madhav Raj Kharel, the judging panel features established folk artists Purushottam Neupane, Rita Thapa Magar, Pashupati Sharma and Amrit Khati. The show is hosted by Dinesh Kafle and Ipsal Sanjyal.
Music Nepal is the digital partner, while Khalti by IME is the voting partner. Pacific Hospitality and Opal Global, Gun Furniture, Neric Academy, Zino Studio and Hamro Maulik Band are also associated with the show as partners in different categories.
According to the organizers, ‘Lok Dohori Champion’ is not only a competitive entertainment show but also an initiative to preserve the originality of Nepali folk music and help emerging talents establish themselves on a national platform.
