Kathmandu — The film “Jhingedau 2,” directed by Gyanendra Deuja, is in its final stage of preparation before filming begins. Director Deuja, who is also the producer, has announced that the shooting will officially commence on Monday, Mangsir 15 (around December 1, 2025) with a muhurat (auspicious start) ceremony.
As the film gears up for production, there has been a change in the lead cast. Director and producer Gyanendra Deuja has replaced the film’s original lead actor, Mukun Bhushal, with Mahesh Tripathi. According to Deuja, the decision came after a dispute over the shooting schedule between the actor and the production team.
Deuja explained that due to the actor’s scheduling issues, filming could not start on time. Following disagreements over this matter, he decided to remove Mukun from “Jhingedau 2” and sign Mahesh instead, allowing the project to move forward.
When asked about the controversy, director Deuja declined to reveal details but confirmed Mukun Bhushal’s removal from the project. Notably, Mukun’s first major hit film was “Jhingedau,” which established his popularity after several earlier films failed to perform well at the box office.
Produced under the Kapangadhi Cinema Pvt. Ltd. banner, the sequel features Mahesh Tripathi, along with Aryan Sigdel, Saroj Khanal, veteran actress Basundhara Bhusal, and Chaitadevi Singh in major roles. The previous cast members — Keki Adhikari, Aanchal Sharma, Kushal Bista, Anshu Maharjan, Bijay Deuja, Sangam Bhandari, Hiunwala Gautam, and Ayan Khadka — remain in the film.
The producers are Shulabh Pratik Deuja and Samikshya Deuja. The production head is Ishwar Ghimire, with Bishnu Kalpit handling cinematography, Arjun Pokharel composing the music, Roshan Shrestha directing the action sequences, and Mitra D. Gurung in charge of editing.
Director Deuja has announced that “Jhingedau 2” will be released during Dashain next year, and it will be distributed nationwide by Apple Entertainment.
