‘Maijharo’ film’s inauguration and shooting begins in Ilam

Kathmandu — The filming of the Nepali movie Maijharo has officially begun on the 1st of Shrawan (mid-July) in Ilam, a hilly district in eastern Nepal. Renowned actor Wilson Bikram Rai, popularly known as “Takme Budha,” is making his directorial debut with the production of this film. The shooting of Maijharo is scheduled to take place in various locations across Ilam and Panchthar districts.

Director Rai stated that the film is based on the lifestyle, culture, and social realities of the eastern hills. He himself has written the story, screenplay, and is directing the film.

The cast includes Dhiraj Magar, Miruna Magar, Diya Pun, Sunil Thapa, Kabita Ale, Pushkar Gurung, Abhayraj Baral, Uday Subba, Buddhi Tamang, Rajani Gurung, Bishal Limbu, and Subash Singh Thakuri, among others. The music will be composed by Anmol Gurung and Toremba Hang Rai, with vocals provided by singers Rajesh Payal Rai, Asmita Adhikari, Jhuma Limbu, Anmol Gurung, and others. Saurabh Lama is in charge of cinematography.

This is the first feature film being produced under the banner of “Takme Production.” Until now, the company had only been producing comedy and musical content. With Maijharo, the company is stepping into the realm of feature filmmaking.
