Kathmandu: The teaser of the upcoming Nepali film Masterni, presented by Ayanka Films, has been released, offering an intense preview of a crime thriller centered on a mother’s unwavering determination to protect her daughter.
The teaser, which follows the release of the film’s posters, expands on the emotional bond between a mother and daughter. Beginning with the discovery of a dead body and featuring the powerful dialogue, “There is nothing greater than a daughter’s safety,” it hints at the extraordinary lengths a mother is willing to go to save her child.
Blending crime thriller and family drama, the teaser features Priyanka Karki Joshi, Simran Khadka, Pramod Agrahari, Richa Sharma, Aaryan Sigdel, Dinesh Kafle, and Rakshya Thapa. The teaser’s color grading is by Rajendra Moktan, while Mukesh Shah handled the sound mixing.
Directed by Subendu Ghosh, Masterni is jointly produced by Priyanka Karki Joshi, Ayushman Joshi, Cabinet Shrestha, and Pranit Karki, with Surakshya Singh Malhotra and Simos Sunuwar serving as executive producers. The film’s post-production is currently underway in Nepal and India with the involvement of an Indian technical team.
The story is written by Priyanka Karki, while Shan Basnet has penned the screenplay. The two have also collaborated on the film’s dialogues. Yuvraj Indoriya is the cinematographer, Raja Singh Sidhu the editor, Rohit Shakya the music composer, and Trishala Gurung the playback singer.
Masterni is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on August 21 (Bhadra 5). The film will be distributed in Nepal by RR Films, while Royal Bhimsen (Trident Concept Team) is handling its poster design and publicity.
