Kathmandu: The trailer of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Masterni’, scheduled to hit theatres on August 21, has been officially released. While the previously unveiled poster and teaser hinted at the film’s premise, the new trailer offers a deeper look into its emotional story, highlighting the powerful bond between a mother and daughter and the lengths a mother will go to protect her child.
Blending crime thriller with family drama, the trailer weaves together suspense, emotion, and mystery, suggesting a story driven by sacrifice, survival, and justice.
The film stars Priyanka Karki Joshi, Simran Khadka, Deepak Raj Giri, Deepa Shree Niraula, Sandip Chhetri, Pramod Agrahari, Richa Sharma, Aryan Sigdel, Dinesh Kafle, and Rakshya Thapa in prominent roles.
Directed by Subhendu Ghosh, Masterni is produced by Priyanka Karki Joshi, Ayushman Joshi, Cabinet Shrestha, and Pranit Karki. Surakshya Singh Malhotra and Simos Sunuwar serve as executive producers.
The story is written by Priyanka Karki Joshi, while the screenplay is penned by Shan Basnet. The dialogues have been jointly written by Priyanka Karki Joshi and Shan Basnet.
The technical team includes cinematographer Yuvraj Indoriya, editor Raja Singh Sidhu, music composer Rohit Shakya, and playback singer Trishala Gurung. The trailer’s color grading is by Rajendra Moktan, with sound design by Mukesh Shah.
Presented by Aayanka Films, the film is currently in post-production in both Nepal and India. The poster design and publicity have been handled by Royal Bhimsen (Trident Concept Team), while RR Films will distribute the film across Nepal.
