Kathmandu – A new patriotic song titled ‘Banchha Banchha Mero Desh Banchha’, written by Nepali Congress central member and author Nainsingh Mahar, has been officially released. Sung by Pramod Kharel and composed by Hari Lamsal, the music video features prominent figures including Rajesh Hamal, Mahabir Pun, Pradip Kumar Rai (Byakul Maila), Anuradha Koirala, Olympian Deepak Bista, and several others.
Directed by Dasharath Sunar, the video expresses hope and vision for a better Nepal. The song was unveiled in Lalitpur by national anthem writer Byakul Maila. Mahar shared that he wrote the song during the Congress–UML coalition government, aiming to turn public disappointment into hope.
This is Mahar’s first song despite having written several political and educational books. He said the creation is his attempt to spread optimism. Singer Kharel and senior journalist Purushottam Dahal praised the song for its positive message, noting how art and literature uplift society.
Lyricist Dr. Bhola Rijal said the patriotic composition adds a new dimension to Mahar’s identity, expressing confidence that “the country will indeed progress.”
