Kathmandu – The song “Ma Phool Hoon Ki Kaanda” from the film “Gunyo Cholo: The Dress” has been released. The song, which was launched during an event held in the capital, features lyrics by Lekhu Sahayatri and vocals by Manisha Pokhrel. The music is also composed by Lekhu Sahayatri. The song expresses a desire for love and portrays the presence of a loving heart within oneself. It appeals for pure and heartfelt love.
The music video features actor Najir Husen, who appears in a female guise. He has put effort into both gesture and posture to embody the role. Sushil Sitoula also appears in the video. During the event, the production team announced that the film will be released on Bhadra 13 (August 29).
Directed by Samundra Bhatt, the film tells the story of a gender minority transgender character. Najir Husen plays the role of a transgender woman (transwoman). Alongside him, the film features Sanchita Luitel, Sushil Sitoula, Rajkumar Ghosh, Shishir Rana, Anupam Shrestha, and Bishal Pahari in significant roles.
This film is Nepal’s first full-fledged transgender story. Its international distribution rights have been acquired by Buffalo 8 in the United States. The film also features vocals by Hollywood artist Lisa Gerrard, with all background music composed by Marcelo De Francisci.
