‘Pahad’ to hit theatres on Nepali New Year 2083

Kathmandu — The upcoming Nepali feature film ‘Pahad’, directed by Tulsi Ghimire, is officially set for release on Baisakh 1, 2083, coinciding with Nepali New Year.

The makers announced that the release date was finalized after consultations with distributors, keeping both domestic and international screenings in mind. The film will be released across Nepal and overseas markets on the same window.

Director Ghimire said the New Year release was chosen considering the family-oriented theme of the film and the convenience for audiences to watch it together during the festive holiday period.

‘Pahad’ portrays the social and economic realities of Nepal’s high-hill regions, focusing on the growing problem of depopulated villages caused by youth migration abroad.

The film is produced by Ojaswi KC under the banner of Bhagyaratna Films Pvt. Ltd.. Cinematography is handled by Pramod Pradhan.

The cast includes Bipin Karki, Sunil Thapa, and Madan Krishna Shrestha, among others.

Music direction is by Ranjit Gajmer, while creative direction is handled by Bharti Ghimire.

The film will be distributed in Nepal by Bankatesh Entertainment, and internationally by Seven Seas International Films.
