...

Kathmandu – Palpasa Dangol, popularly known as Chamsuri, who once came face to face with death, says, “When I was sick, I used to feel like it would be enough if I could just live for two more days.” Today, she is living a second life after receiving a kidney transplant from her own younger brother. Doctors had once told her that she had only 10 to 12 years left to live, essentially putting a time limit on her life. It was nine years ago when Palpasa was first diagnosed with kidney problems.

Gaining fame through the comedy television series Meri Bassai, she remains a beloved and active figure in the Nepali entertainment industry to this day. When both of her kidneys failed, she came dangerously close to death. However, after undergoing a successful kidney transplant, she has returned to a healthy life and continues to be actively involved in her profession.

Following her role in Meri Bassai, she became widely known by her on-screen name. In addition to Meri Bassai, Palpasa has acted in several other TV serials, films, and music videos. Many years ago, she separated from her husband and has since been living with her two daughters. Through her career in acting, she managed to raise and educate her daughters on her own. Currently, her daughters have not yet reached the point where they can earn a living independently.
