Pradeep’s Pitambar in the Spotlight

Kathmandu – The upcoming film Pitambar, set to release on Chaitra 29 (April 11, 2025) in line with the Nepali New Year 2082, is currently making waves. The hype surrounding this multi-starrer film has been increasing day by day following the release of its teaser and songs. According to the film’s director, Krisha Chaulagai, the audience’s response to the teaser and songs has significantly boosted international demand for the film. “Since every story leads to a new film, Pitambar also presents a fresh narrative,” she says.

The action-packed teaser, which opens with actor Divya Dev reciting the Mahabharata verse “Yada Yada Hi Dharmasya”, features actors Pradeep Khadka, Anup Bikram Shahi, Dayahang Rai, Saugat Malla, Surakshya Panta, Supushpa Bhatt, Divya Rayamajhi, and Rabindra Jha. The teaser, released by Budha Subba Digital, has garnered over 1.7 million views.

Similarly, the song “Ma Ta Fan Bhae Yaar”, featuring a romantic sequence between Pradeep Khadka and Divya Rayamajhi, has been viewed 1.9 million times. The song was shot on a grand set in the Terai region, designed by Indian technicians, and has been widely praised. Producer Bishal Chaulagai, who is increasingly invested in the project, expresses his commitment to making an even better film. A medical professional by profession, Bishal previously produced the film Aincho Paincho, also directed by Krisha.

Krisha, who debuted as a director with Aincho Paincho, has previously directed Insaaf, Kasam Hajurko, Ke Ma Timro Sathi Banna Sakchu, and Palaas. Produced under the banners of KP Films and Purushottam Pradhan Films, Pitambar stars Pradeep Khadka, Dayahang Rai, Saugat Malla, Aryan Sigdel, Anup Bikram Shahi, Surakshya Panta, Gauri Malla, Rabindra Jha, Pramod Agrahari, Kameshwar Chaurasiya, Tika Pahadi, Sulabh Pahadi, Surveer Pandit, Bishal Pahadi, Divya Dev Panta, Supushpa Bhatt, Divya Rayamajhi, Gaurav Bista, Ashish Purush, Lalit Bista, Kishor Bhatt, Binod Kumar Poudel, Narayan Kafle, and Rabindra Bhattarai.

The film also features child actors Arnab Ghimire, Prayush Dutta Subedi, Aadhya Lamichhane, Aaroh Chaulagai, and Suprol Budhathoki (Anmol). Bishal Chaulagai serves as the producer, while Purushottam Pradhan, Aadhya Lamichhane, and Aaroh Chaulagai are co-producers. Suman Gautam is the executive producer, with a screenplay and dialogues by Pradeep Bhardwaj and Abhimanyu Nirvi. The film’s cinematography is handled by Purushottam Pradhan, Sher Bahadur Lama, and Mankrishna Maharjan, while Bande Prasad is responsible for editing. The background score is composed by Kala Charan, color grading by Renish Fago, music by Ashish Aviral and Babul Giri, and action direction by Himal KC. The film will be distributed by RR Films.
