Kathmandu — Two new actors have joined the cast of the upcoming Nepali film Panch Pandav. Actor Prashant Tamrakar and debut actress/content creator Eva Giri have officially entered the project. According to the production team, the film is currently being shot intensively in Jhapa, eastern Nepal.

Director Basanta Niraula said the addition of the two actors on the 14th day of the shoot has further expanded the film’s canvas. The movie began filming on Chaitra 2 following an auspicious launch event at Kakarvitta, a Nepal–India border town. The project features a mix of legendary Nepali cinema figures and popular new-generation actors.

The main “Panch Pandav” characters are portrayed by Haribansha Acharya, Jitu Nepal, Aryan Sigdel, Mahesh Tripathi, and Sagar Lamsal (Bale).

The story revolves around these five key characters, while Dipashree Niraula and Jeni Gurung appear as the leading female characters.

Although titled Panch Pandav, writer Sushil Paudel clarified that the film is not based on any mythological or religious story. Instead, it is a social drama that uses the symbolism and traits of the Mahabharata’s Pandav brothers to depict contemporary Nepali society.

Presenter Naveen Shrestha stated that no compromise has been made in the film’s budget. “We have veteran actors like Haribansha dai, along with beloved young artists. We are confident this will be one of the most anticipated films of the year,” he said. Shrestha previously produced last year’s film Laaj Sharanam.

The film is produced by Kalirani Shrestha. The team has planned a 40-day shooting schedule, with most scenes to be filmed in scenic and significant locations across Jhapa. After wrapping up the Jhapa schedule, the team will move to additional locations, director Niraula confirmed.

The story, screenplay, and dialogue are written by Sushil Paudel, while Shyam Tamang is serving as the cinematographer.

Technically, Panch Pandav is expected to be a standout project. The film will feature full Dolby Atmos sound, offering audiences a high-quality audio experience. Its sound design and mixing will be done at Music Nepal’s newly launched state-of-the-art Dolby Atmos studio.

With its star-studded cast, strong social storyline, and advanced technical elements, Panch Pandav has already generated significant buzz within the Nepali film industry.
