Kathmandu: Actor Rajballav Koirala has also become embroiled in the Elina Chauhan controversy. A while ago, singer Chauhan had posted a photo of a person named Deepak Baraily, accusing him of taking her money. This person then called Rajballav Koirala, wishing him success for his film on a video call. Not only did he make the call, but he also posted a screenshot of the video call on Facebook. After this, when it was speculated that Rajballav Koirala was associated with the person who took Elina’s money, he wrote the following status:
“As the release of the film Take One is approaching, someone called me on Messenger. I answered thinking something had happened. They said, ‘I just wanted to wish you success for your film. Can you join for a quick video call?’ I didn’t feel like it at first, but since it’s a video call, I received it. He said ‘hello’ and then asked me to say hello to the girl on the side. I told him I was busy and ended the call after a moment. A second later, he tagged me on Facebook and posted a story. It seemed like we were old friends.
Without my permission, he recorded the entire call and took a screenshot to post it. What should I say? At that time, it felt normal. Many people have posted photos to show love and goodwill over the years. But recently, after some posts tagged me saying, ‘This controversial person is your friend,’ I felt compelled to write this status. No, he is not my friend, and I don’t even remember meeting him.
Just because of a photo or a Facebook message wishing success, one shouldn’t assume relationships. Some people from the same industry may be connected on Facebook due to various circumstances, but that doesn’t mean they are real friends. In fact, I also have a photo with the current President.”
