Kathmandu: The upcoming Nepali film “Rato Ghera – The Red Circle” was officially launched on Thursday with a traditional script worship ceremony at the Banglamukhi Temple in Patan. Directed by Anil Budha Magar, the film is scheduled to begin shooting on July 9 (Ashar 25).
Produced under the banner of Bishram Films Pvt. Ltd., the movie stars Dayahang Rai and Miruna Magar in the lead roles alongside an ensemble cast of nearly two dozen actors. Most of the filming will take place in the Kathmandu Valley. The film is slated for nationwide release on December 4 (Mangsir 18).
According to director Anil Budha Magar, Rato Ghera – The Red Circle is a socially driven emotional drama inspired by true events. Producer Jeevan Gurung said the production aims to deliver a technically polished and narratively powerful film with the support of an experienced cast and crew.

The film is jointly produced by Jeevan Gurung, Kavita Gurung, Bhojendra Gurung (Bhoj), and Sarun Sherchan, with Suman Gurung and Khem Rana serving as co-producers. Music will be composed by Manoj Thapa Magar and Sagar Ale Magar, while cinematography will be handled by Shishir Bisankhe. The screenplay is written by Raju Syangtan.
Distribution rights have been acquired by Kafiya Films for the Kathmandu Valley and Kuber Cine Distribution for the rest of Nepal.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Dayahang Rai and Miruna Magar expressed their excitement about being part of a film based on a true story, saying audiences can expect a compelling performance and a fresh cinematic experience from their on-screen pairing once again.
