Kathmandu -Television presenter and actress Reema Bishwakarma has embarked on a new chapter, formally entering politics through the Ujyalo Nepal Party, a group backed by energy reform leader Kulman Ghising.
Speaking at the party’s announcement event on Wednesday, Reema said Nepal urgently needs result-driven leadership. She praised Ghising’s impact, recalling how his decision to end nationwide load-shedding changed her daily life.
“That day, I realized leadership can directly transform ordinary lives. From that moment, I saw Kulman Ghising as a true leader,” she said. Reema added that just as Ghising brought light to households across the country, she hopes to help brighten Nepal’s future through the party’s mission.
Coming from a background in TV journalism and having worked in films and music videos, Reema said she is now committed to using her voice not for personal gain but for people who lack one. She vowed to champion women’s representation, youth-driven issues, and the rights of marginalized communities.
She urged supporters to join the party’s nation-building campaign, promising to stand for inclusive and impactful change.
