Kathmandu – The premiere show of actress Rekha Thapa’s debut play Meera has been postponed. According to sources, the play had to be rescheduled due to political reasons.
The inauguration of the Kantipur Film Academy’s theater and the premiere of Meera were originally scheduled to take place together on Thursday. However, due to overlapping events in Kathmandu by the royalist Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and the ruling CPN-UML, the date of the play’s performance has been changed.
The Kantipur Film Academy stated that the premiere has been postponed to Jestha 19 (June 1), citing concerns that the royalist protests, including those by RPP, could disrupt public life.
